Nature - Inside & Out Springtime

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to see the blooms! The daffodils, cherry blossoms, forsythia, star magnolia, vinca, violas, redbuds, crocus, snow drops blooming outside, make me smile on McCoy walks and right outside our home. I bring some blooming branches inside to enjoy and find some glorious ranunculus and pussy willow at Trader Joe’s!

Crocus

These precious crocus were planted by our Lizzy, years ago, around the playhouse. They’ve come back every year since and have multiplied. They’re the first flower to appear in the spring.

Violas

I love these sweet-smelling flowers. They tend to survive the winter even better than the pansies. These live in our front window boxes.

Signal Mountain Nursery

This is our beautiful cherry tree we planted almost five years ago for our 30th wedding anniversary.

McCoy has many different varieties of daffodils and they’re all gorgeous.

You can see the lovely stone house in the background.

These snowdrops are enchanting!

Forsythia

This happy shrub has been extra full and bright this year.

Vinca

These tiny, purple flowers grow on the forest floor.

This is a new one for me. It’s a Star Magnolia and I love how delicate it is.

I LOVE redbuds and these trees are abundant on the mountain in the springtime.

come inside

I clipped a few branches from our cherry tree to enjoy inside. I placed the vase up on the mantle so our kitty couldn’t get to them, as they’re toxic to cats.

I also cut a few forsythia branches off of our neighbor’s shrubs, which conveniently grow through out fence. ;) I placed it on my sweet, wooden bowl from Sophie’s in our living room.

Sophie’s

These petite daffodils were a happy accident. I didn’t realize how small they would be when I planted the bulbs. I love them in this tiny vase, which held matches in a previous life.

I’m going to gush about these and include a few photos of them. I have decided ranunculus are one of my very favorite flowers! I found these beauties at Trader Joe’s and fell in love.

the layers and buds!

just so beautiful!

I found that their stems are very fragile and some of them bent over the vase, so I simply cut them and let them float in this glass bowl. So sweet!

I also found pussy willow at Trader Joe’s and had to get a few branches! It reminds me of my childhood, when we would make Easter cards in Sunday school and glue the branches onto the construction paper. They’re so soft!

I placed the branches in two separate, tall vases on our hutch in the dining room.

Happy Springtime Blooms!
