Nature - Flowers

I’d rather be outside than inside, in any season, really. I like different things about each season; the snow and crisp air of winter, the blooms of spring, walking barefoot in the summer grass, and the brilliant-colored leaves of autumn. I find God’s creation, whether it’s something tiny or enormous, breathtaking and a source of joy! I still feel a sense of wonder and thankfulness when in nature, anywhere in the world. I hope some photos I share will bring a little peace and happiness to you.

zinnia

I love planting tiny zinnia seeds every late spring and watching all the rich, vibrant colors emerge throughout the summer. They’re such bright, happy colors and make perfect cut flowers for bringing inside to enjoy.

This is my first year growing these delicate little flowers. I like them because when there’s a breeze blowing, they seem to “dance” and their stems appear to bob around invisibly in the wind. I love this orchid color. I have more plants to bloom so we’ll see what colors will appear.

daisy

Who doesn’t love daises?! This plant came back from last summer, bigger and better. They just make me smile.

fuchsia

The first time I saw this flower, I didn’t know what I was looking at. We were eating breakfast outside a London cafe (Les Filles) and this fairytale-like flower was hanging in a basket outside their door. Months later, I saw it at our local nursery and immediately took it home with me. This year, my husband gave one to me for Mother’s Day and it graces our deck with its gorgeous pink and purple blooms. In a way, their shape makes me think of a ballerina. It’s a tad high maintenance but with a little tlc, it’ll bloom all summer.
