Nature - Christmasy

On the days leading up to and during Christmastime, getting outside in nature and noticing the “Christmasy” colors was soothing and delightful! Appreciating God’s colorful creation and anticipating the celebration of the birth of His son, Jesus, made my heart happy.

“The holly and the ivy, when they are both full grown, of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown. Oh the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer, the playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.” - Old English folk song

What a blessing it was having our daughters home for Christmas! Our sweet Lizzy wasn’t feeling well on this day so she had to sit this walk out at home. Our sweet Hannah joined us for a winter walk in the woods at McCoy Farm and Gardens.

McCoy Farm & Gardens

One December morning, I took a walk at McCoy and the fog rolled in while I was there. In its own way, it was so beautiful and atmospheric to me.

This silent beauty appeared in our backyard, looking for a snack, and took our breath away.

One of our favorite things about winter are the stunning sunsets we see through our front windows. This heavenly sunset graced the sky on one of the last days of the year.
