Nature - Snowfall

We were hoping for a big snow this winter and boy, did we get it! January 10th brought about 8 inches of snow to our neighborhood. I LOVE snow and the crisp, clean air it brings with it.

our little bluebird house

Our sweet, tiny trees held tiny fairy lights the month before, for Christmastime. I was worried the weight of the snow might break the branches but they survived.

This candelier lived in our dining room and bedroom for years until it made its way outside to hang near our fire pit. Instead of fire from candles, cold, soft snow topped the holders.

We placed string lights on our fence for Christmas and decided to leave them for the winter months. They looked especially pretty covered in ice and snow.

nothing like coming in from the chilly, snowy outside to snuggle up under a warm blanket to sip a hot tea

This is one of our very favorite places to walk almost every day. It looked like a winter wonderland after the big snow!

“The only other sound’s the sweep, of easy wind and downy flake.” - Robert Frost “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

This was the first poem I had to memorize in elementary school and it’s still one of my favorites.

Homemade, steamy chicken noodle soup hit the spot after a long, snowy walk in the woods.

We had the best snowy day and are so thankful for such a beautiful January snowfall! It’s one of the reasons I love the winter season. I embrace every season of the year because there’s always something to enjoy and be in awe of in God’s breathtaking creation.

“He spreads the snow like wool…” Psalm 147:16
