Food - Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies
This is a favorite at our house! I found the recipe on Pinterest and it’s a keeper.
classic combo
These remind me of the peanut butter cookies my mom made when I was little. Fork imprints take me back. She never added chocolate chips, though, which only adds to the yumminess! This recipe is from “Crazy for Crust” on Pinterest. Depending on how big you make them, you may get around 24 cookies from this batch. We like to bake as needed, over a weekend, so we can have hot, fresh cookies when we want them!
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted melted butter (I used salted butter and omitted the salt)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 large egg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips ( I used dark chocolate)
Mix or stir butter with peanut butter until smooth. Add brown sugar & granulated sugar and mix until creamy.
Beat in vanilla, egg, baking soda and salt. Mix in flour slowly until cookie dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips.
Scoop 2 tbsp sized cookie dough balls onto cookie sheets covered with parchment paper and chill 30 minutes
preheat oven to 350 degrees
press cookie dough balls flat with tines of a fork
bake for 8-12 minutes
cool on rack
I had the dark chocolate Ghiradelli chips and the Whole Foods brand of chips in my pantry and the two different kinds came out just fine. I’m sure milk or semi-sweet chips would work. too. Perfect devoured warm and melty with a cold glass of milk!
